There are two methods in light control, directly or indirectly.
Direct control
Direct control is described as creating lighting environments quite new. This lighting control element uses the photographer who wants full control of his photography. You can check out the https://www.hypop.com.au/collections/light-meters to get more information about the Lighting Control.
This photographer precisely to create the desired lighting effects from a blank canvas, even something that may have not been demonstrated before. This control is usually built in a studio environment.

Indirect control
Indirect control uses existing lighting. This is the photographer who analyzes the environment and responds accordingly. This control is usually sought and handled in the environment.
Both methods are equally effective, one is not better than the other; they are simply different. There are six visual qualities of light that are common to both direct and indirect control. These are:
Brightness
The brightness is the level of intensity of the radiation (sunlight) or light reflected (from a wall). Brightness levels can be discussed across the light, medium, and dark. The brightness is measured by a light measuring device by both radiation (and incident) and the reflected light.
Color
The quality of the color of light is quite complex and must be broken down into several areas to understand more clearly. They are color balance, tone, color temperature, primary colors, color effects, and many others. Color can be measured using a color meter.
