Therefore, we usually use the restaurant guide to help us find a restaurant in an unknown city. Soon, we realized that most of the time the restaurant guide provided us with disappointing results.
We found that the restaurant guide did not give us the correct information about the best places to eat because they are usually printed by the restaurant owners who advertise their businesses. We need a method that is more reliable than a restaurant guide.
In an effort for an effective way to find a good place to eat, we decided to ask the desk clerk at the hotel we stayed in their recommendation of a good restaurant. While we are happy to get a better result than the results we got using a restaurant guide, we soon realize that talking with the employee is not the best way, too.
Most often employees are busy to answer our questions, so we do not have a recommendation. In case they are not busy, they usually begin to ask questions about what kind of food we would prefer and how much can we afford to spend in the restaurant. According to the answer to the question, they will make recommendations. Fortunately, their recommendations are usually very helpful.
Actually, if it happens that we live in a hotel, which is equipped with a dining room, they would just tell us to visit their own restaurant.
On the other hand, some employees suggest looking for a restaurant guide provided in the room.
