About the Theme
This competition invites artists to share what they experiences through the eye of the camera. With your lens show us images that examine patterns in the world either natural or manmade.
About the Juror
This year's juror, Michael Collopy, is one of the preeminent portrait photographers of our time and has gained worldwide recognition for his commissioned portraits of hundreds of public figures. His portfolio includes portraits of world leaders such as Pope John
Paul II, Mikhail Gorbachev and Margaret Thatcher and entertainers like Ella Fitzgerald, Mick Jagger, B. B. King and Luciano Pavarotti. Collopy's photos have been published worldwide in numerous books, magazines and newspapers. A San Francisco native, Collopy is
a self-taught photographer whose enthusiasm for the arts led him to meet and spend time with such luminaries as Ansel Adams and Richard Avedon.Hosted by the Coastal Arts League.

Svaki kandidat prijaviti se može samo s jednim radom na pojedini tematski ili ne tematski dio. Od fotografskih radova primaju se samo oni nastali unutar godine, i to u A4 formatu, c/b ili u boji, na temu ženskog akta.Video radovi i animirani filmovi mogu biti u trajanju od 5 do 15 minuta, isključivo na dvd-u.
Odabrani radovi predstavit će se na izložbama u Prilepu, Bitoli i Skoplju, te u umjetničkoj koloniji na Mramornom jezeru.

Tickle Attack is about Humor, Laughter, Irony, Paradox and Absurd. Artists should submit photography-based projects that express and reflect different artistic perspectives and interpretations through various cultural backgrounds.
The 8th edition of the Festival promotes intercultural dialogue by focusing on revealing the hidden, the veiled, the lost and forgotten. The Festival will consist of exhibitions, a symposium with lectures, workshops, guided tours, a residence program, portfolio review and publications.
For further information please read the curators´ statements The International Call for Artists is focused on photography, but it also accepts photography-based projects that are combined with other media.
Exhibition concept: To promote intercultural dialogue, Backlight 2008 will organize one main exhibition that will be divided and shared by organizer and co-organizers. Selected artworks will be displayed in different venues throughout Europe (Florence, Lodz, Oulu, Tampere, Wolkersdorf) based on the curators´ decision and according to the thematic concept.
The exhibition will be presented in September 2008 and streamed via Internet in order to give the audience access to the entire content.
The whole exhibition will also be presented at Lodz Photo Festival in May 2009.
If the artist states that the body of work is separable, different pictures may be displayed in more than one venue. Organizer, co-organizers and partners will choose the number of pictures to exhibit.
Single projects (chosen by the jury) may also be selected for additional presentations by Backlight 2008 partners.
Loan period of artwork: All artwork must be available for one year, from 01.08.2008 until 31.07.2009.
Security of artwork: Organizers are responsible for all security aspects related to transportation, handling and presentation of the artwork. Artists are responsible for packing their artworks safely.
Copyright: The artist agrees that selected artwork may be used for PR purposes.
Deadline: 31.01.2008 - Applications must be in Tampere by that day.
Artists will receive confirmation of the artwork´s arrival as soon as possible.
Award: € 5.000 will be awarded to the project that hits the theme in a most convincing way.
Production Costs: Backlight 2008 will not cover production costs.
Publications: Artwork will be visible on printed material and on the Internet.
Symposium and Residence: A number of artists will be invited for the symposium and/or for the residence program. Invitations are based on experience and expertise as evidenced by the portfolio and the CV.
Personal Invitations: Artists are welcome at Backlight 2008´s vernissages, however travel and accommodation costs will not be covered in general.

DRUGI FOTO-NATJEČAJ - GRIMALDA 2008.
Foto sekcije Udruge mladih Pagubice i Društva likovnih stvaratelja Pazin objavljuju 2. foto-natječaj GRIMALDA 2008. Natječaj rezultira izložbom fotografija na Grimaldi 20. travnja. 2008.godine.
Istog dana organiziran je susret mladih svirača tradicionalnih instrumenata „Supci pud mavricun“.Propozicije:
-Tema ovogodišnjeg foto natječaja su kapelice / poklonci u Istri.
-Fotografije za natječaj moraju biti formata A4.
-Fotografije moraju biti odaslane poštom ili priložene organizatorima, u omotnici sa šifrom i podacima o fotografijama (naslov, tehnologija, godina nastanka), bez podataka o autoru.
-Uz radove treba priložiti posebnu, zatvorenu kuvertu, označenu istom šifrom, u kojoj se nalaze podaci o autoru (ime i prezime, godina rođenja, zanimanje, mjesto stanovanja).
-Svaki autor može poslati poštom, u istoj omotnici, najviše 10 fotografija (svaka mora biti označena) na adresu: Udruga mladih Pagubice, Pagubice 1, Cerovlje 52402, s naznakom: FOTO-NATJEČAJ GRIMALDA 2008.
-Radovi se predaju / šalju najkasnije do 10. 04. 2008. (žig na poštanskoj pošiljci).
-Stručni žiri (Miranda Legović Lovorka Lukani, Eugen Borkovsky) izabrati će radove koji će biti prezentirani na izložbi a autore najboljih fotografija nagraditi

Poruka: 122Artists working with photography or moving image are invited to submit proposals for new or existing works for display in the FORMAT EXPOSURE exhibitions in non gallery spaces.
These exhibition opportunities are open to any artist/photographer based in the UK or internationally. Selected artists will be included in the FORMAT09 brochure, catalogue, website and will be profiled as part of the festival.
The EXPOSURE exhibitions curated for FORMAT09 will be held in 30 venues throughout Derby city centre ranging from temporary gallery and non-gallery spaces including bars and cafes, university campuses, museums, civic and other public access buildings.

The theme for FORMAT09 - PHOTOCINEMA is deliberately broad allowing practitioners to respond loosely or specifically in a number of ways;
We are interested in seeing any work that ranges from 'film still' to 'still film'. The theme for FORMAT09 is positioned in the half-light between these two narrative and technical sensibilities, colliding - fact with fiction, historicism with fantasy.
The festival will contain a broad variety of work from artists who can relate to the cinematic through referencing or have the look of films, single images that are so brimming with narrative as if they were a film in one shot, the use of sequencing, directed or documentary photography and moving image from single still to feature film. Works may be derived from/inspired by film, be highly composed and directed, or can be documentary or street photography, in essence regardless of definition the exhibitions included in the festival will need to subscribe to a notion of the cinematic.The FORMAT09 programme will include photographic work that is challenging and engages with relevance to contemporary life, work shown will need to demonstrate stability of purpose and a relationship to the theme 'PHOTOCINEMA'.
FORMAT09 will include the diversity of techniques within photography from darkroom to digital, printed, projected and moving image. Including works that fall within these categories:

Poruka: 122Fotografsko društvo iz Malmo iz Švedske poziva sve fotografe i fotoamatere iz svijeta na sudjelovanje na 8.Međunarodnoj izložbi fotografske umjetnosti 2008. u Švedskoj.
Rok za prijavu je od 1.8. do 13.9.2008. Izložba se održava pod FIAP, PSA i ISF pravilima.Tema izložbe je slobodna i sastoji se od dvije sekcije - kolor i crnobijele. Svaki sudionik može poslati najviše do četiri fotografije u svaku sekciju.
